United Way of Anderson County – Donor Privacy Statement

United Way of Anderson County (UWAC) is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our donors, volunteers, and community partners. We uphold the highest standards of privacy and security in the collection, use, and protection of personal information.

UWAC may collect personal information from online donors, offline donors, and website visitors, including:

  • Name

  • Physical, mailing, and billing address

  • Telephone number

  • Email address

  • Donation or pledge amounts

  • Credit/debit card information solely for payment processing (not stored by UWAC)

How We Use Donor Information

We use donor information for internal purposes only, such as:

  • Processing pledges and donations

  • Maintaining donation records

  • Communicating with donors about UWAC programs, opportunities, and community impact

Donor information is shared internally only with departments that require it—Finance for pledge processing, Marketing for communications, and Campaign for donor relationship management.

How We Protect Your Information

UWAC maintains appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect personal information. Online transactions are securely processed using trusted services such as https://www.authorize.net/en-anz/about-us/privacy.html ,  https://stripe.com/privacy, and credit card data is not stored by UWAC.

Sharing Donor Information

UWAC does not sell, trade, give, or otherwise share personal information with third parties. We do not send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We may disclose personal information only when required by law or when necessary to fulfill a donor’s expressed giving intentions.

Donor Choice and Opt-Out

Donors may request at any time to:

  • Opt out of future contact

  • Limit how their information is used internally

UWAC does not use cookies to track visitors’ behavior. Any information voluntarily posted by visitors on our website is shared at their own discretion and risk.
