United Way of Anderson County recently honored Bobbie Oglesby as the 2015 Community Volunteer of the Year.
Bobbie was instrumental in the founding and has been actively volunteering with the Free Clinic since 1984 before the doors opened to the public. She volunteers as the medical transcriptionist, still using cassette tapes - and actually began with an old typewriter.
We have received almost $3,000 in her honor – which will be going to the Anderson Free Clinic to support their work. She was presented the award by Carol Burdette and JT Boseman of United Way.
For more information on how to volunteer in the community, contact Dayle Stewart of United Way of Anderson County at (864) 226-3438.
