The United Way of Anderson County has been selected as the recipient of the United Way Association of South Carolina/South Carolina Department of Social Services Matching Grants programs for funding from January 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011.  Five organizations within the United Way of Anderson County structure were eligible to receive the funding -Anderson Area YMCA Westside, preschool of quality childcare of children birth to 5; Developmental Center for Exceptional Children, quality childcare activities for special needs children birth to 5; Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, afterschool and summer programs; We Stand for Kids, afterschool and summer programs, and Iva Recreational Center, afterschool and summer programs.

The grant totaling $78,187.50 will be distributed to these programs beginning July 1, 2010.
