Askable Adult Training

Registration is closed for this event

Providing care and support to teens to make healthy decisions can be a challenging job. The United Way of Anderson County is hosting a workshop designed for anyone involved in the lives of young people to improve the communication skills of those adults in supporting adolescents’ healthy decisions.

Information covered includes adolescent growth and development, trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences, models of behavior change, and more.

Foster parents, youth leaders, guidance counselors, school nurses, teachers, after-school staff, parents, youth-serving professionals and any other adults who have the opportunity to positively influence young people in-care or at-risk are invited to attend.

Every moment with a teen is precious; this workshop is designed to ensure those rare moments are positive encounters that have the most benefit for the teen. Never miss an opportunity – know the techniques that will have the biggest impact.

The training will be held at Hospice of the Upstate on Tuesday, May 2 from 9 a.m.-3p.m. Registration is required, but it is a free event. Lunch will be included.
