Hungry children are often unable to fully engage in daily activities such as school and social interaction with peers. Children who have little or nothing to eat over the weekend return back to school on Monday hungry and unable to concentrate, learn and sometimes are unable to control impulses, leading to behavior issues.
Weekend Snackpacks is United Way of Anderson County's effort to insure that our youngest citizens show up for school on Mondays—well-fed and ready to learn.
Help address hunger by buying boxes of Weekend Snackpacks. These boxes are delivered to elementary schools across Anderson County to feed about 1,000 students each weekend.
