Resource Development

The last two years have been challenging for many people in Anderson County. Business closings, job losses, foreclosures, etc. have taken a tremendous toll in our community and across the nation. People are using United Way supported services who may have believed they would never have a need. Safety net resources have been strained to their limits. There continues to be concerns about whether or not we are on the road to economic recovery.

All of us have an opportunity to positively impact the lives of those most affected. We can do so through a contribution during the United Way campaign and by volunteering our time and talent to support activities that help make Anderson County a better place for all residents.

I am grateful that I can have an impact through my personal and business contributions and by volunteering my time and talent by chairing the 2010 United Way campaign. I thank my fellow campaign cabinet members for doing the same as leaders in this effort.

As we begin the 2010 United Way of Anderson County Campaign, our goal is to develop and implement strategies to reach out to as many people as we can and successfully encourage them to help make a positive impact with their gifts. I hope you will join the thousands of others in making that impact here in Anderson County .
